The Productivity Commission (PC) is the Australian Government's independent research and advisory body on a range of economic, social and environmental issues affecting the welfare of Australians. We contribute by providing quality, independent advice to governments, and on the communication of ideas and analysis.
Opportunity
The Finance and Office Services Team supports the achievement of the Commission’s objectives by:
- providing timely and accurate financial and procurement information and advice which supports sound decision making and ensures the ongoing financial sustainability of the Commission.
- ensuring the Commission complies with all relevant legislative and policy/procedural requirements including those relating to financial management, administration and reporting.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer who works well in a small team and who also possesses the following skills or knowledge:
- A strong understanding of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable function including asset register functions and ensuring accurate and timely entries to TechOne and CBMS.
- Well-developed experience in relevant Financial Management Information Systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Sound understanding of and relevant legislation, policies and procedures and internal controls associated with financial management, administration, reporting and compliance.
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills and the ability to consistently produce work which is timely, accurate and displays a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and influencing skills.
- Capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines and adapt to change, and display initiative.

- be an Australian citizen or hold an Australian Citizenship
