About the role

The Productivity Commission is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team.

The Senior Accountant provides high-quality financial strategy, reporting and advice to internal and external stakeholders, including specialist financial advice and practical guidance on contract management matters.

This is a varied and hands-on role, where you will undertake financial reporting and analysis, contribute to the development of the Financial Statements, Portfolio Budget Statements and internal budgets. You will be responsible developing and reviewing the Commission’s finance policies and procedures, including supporting procurement and contract management activities across the Commission.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a thorough knowledge and understanding of financial accounting practices, principles, and standards who can demonstrate an active contribution to process continuous improvement. Previous experience in applying the Commonwealth Government Financial Management Framework will be highly regarded and prior experience with TechnologyOne.

Applicants must hold an Accounting/Finance degree and be a Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant.
