Professor Yu was until recently Director-General of the Institute of World Economics and Politics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing, where he is a Professor at the Post-Graduate School.
He is President of the China Society of World Economics, Editor of China and World Economy, and Associate Editor of Asian Economic Policy Review.
Professor Yu was formerly a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People's Bank of China, and a member of the National Advisory Committee of the 11th Five Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of the People's Republic of China.
He has authored, co-authored and edited a dozen books, and published numerous papers and articles. His main research interests are in macroeconomics and the world economy.
